Many mass producers cut corners by harvesting plants before they are ripe, and supplement with sugars and additives.

THE LEGEND OF FULL TERM AGAVE

Just a few miles south lay the tequila region of Jalisco and far beyond that, Oaxaca that is origin to the most noteworthy mezcals. But this is not those regions, and nor is this a tequila or mezcal as people know it.

Produced in annual vintages, La Leyenda is a limited craft spirit made on a private family farm in Zacatecas, Mexico, that dates back 4 generations. Unlike the mass-produced tequilas and mezcals from Jalisco and Oaxaca, La Leyenda is made from full-term blue weber agave plants, which take 6+ years to mature and yield only 7-10 bottles per plant. La Leyenda is smooth, with light earth tones and a crisp finish, made with no preservatives, additives, celebrities, or phony advertising. It is grown, distilled and bottled by an independent family business. Manifesting that independence, the founders, are taking a fresh approach to restore a 400-year-old tradition by leveraging modern technology, and making 100% full-term, blue weber agave great again.
